Kigbeare Manor is situated approximately 4 miles to the west of Okehampton in a rural setting surrounded by areas of woodland. First documented in the Doomsday survey, it is understood that the present farm house occupies the site of the original Manor House.
The existing buildings consisted of the main house, which fronted onto a large courtyard area. This gave access to a 2 bedroom cottage. Traditional barns bordered the southern, western and eastern sides of the courtyard and incorporated a large stone main barn with adjoining roundhouse with further open fronted former linhay, shippen and stables.
The farmhouse, cottages and outbuildings have been fully restored and converted to provide a complex of 10 arts & crafts studio workshops, a beautiful gallery and two cottages set around a landscaped courtyard.
